Job Summary

The International Collections Specialist EMEA manages specific finance functions related to the collections of delinquent receivables for a portfolio of accounts in the EMEA region in order to maintain the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WHR) cash flow. They are required to converse and communicate in Turkish and English as a minimum in relation to the portfolio coverage while other languages could be beneficial.

They work closely with franchisees and the Field Operations team, as well as other internal departments such as Finance and Legal, to ensure that the franchisees'/ hotels' financial obligations to WHR are met in a satisfactory manner. Areas of responsibility mainly include but are not limited to collection and missing withholding tax receipt calls, resolving past due accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, reviewing financial statements, fielding incoming calls, recommending accounts for next collection steps, account reconciliations including submitting write-offs and payment processing details, reconciling withholding tax receipts and VAT (where applicable), and performing withholding and VAT (where applicable) adjustments and other miscellaneous write-offs.

The Specialist is required to complete the daily identification and application of payments and special projects. They also require an understanding of withholding tax implications, and the ability to identify and resolve financial issues, as well as communicate such issues to Senior Finance management in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

Identification, analysis, reconciliation, and application of international payments, including reconciliation of foreign exchange differences.
Reconcile withholding tax receipts and VAT, and process necessary adjustments.
Pursue outstanding receivables to maintain WHR cash flow, including but not limited to conducting all means necessary to improve A/R aging and DSO, obtaining and processing withholding tax receipts, and maintaining overall A/R integrity.
Facilitate payments from past due accounts or recommend accounts for next steps in the collection process.

Complexity

The International Collections Specialist EMEA has autonomy to process and reconcile withholding tax for individual accounts. Withholding tax write-offs processed by them are prepared independent of direction but require final management approval. Cash applications are performed without supervision and no review prior to processing. The Specialist works to resolve outstanding accounts in a way that directly impacts WHR cash flow. They provide expertise in developing settlement arrangements for collection. They also determine the collectability of receivables and make write-off recommendations. They are expected to work without routine supervision as well as provide valuable insights for senior management to make decisions for achieving the financial goals of the organisation.

Scope/ Financial Responsibility

The International Collections Specialist EMEA has a high level of impact on EMEA cash flow. They are critical to timely processing of payments and write-offs, ensuring accounts reflect accurate amounts due, in turn impacting the collectability of monies. Failure to accurately and efficiently perform their job responsibilities will have a negative impact on cash collections, outstanding withholding tax and VAT (where applicable), unapplied cash, and levels of customer service as issues with accounts will rise. Incorrectly processing tax adjustments has potential tax implications. This position has a measurable impact on the company’s financial performance as it has a direct impact on collections (cash flow) and pursuit/ resolution of outstanding accounts (reduction of bad debt). The role is responsible for improving the A/R aging, improving DSO, obtaining, and processing withholding tax receipts, and maintaining overall A/R integrity. The Specialist oversees the collection process and ensures accurate collection measures are being taken to reduce the overall company liability and exposure.

Job Summary

The Intern Finance EMEA will contribute to the performance of the EMEA team by supporting the Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams with a mixed variety of duties and projects in the areas of Accounting and FP&A as required by Corporate Finance in the EMEA division. They will work with the Corporate Finance team as well as individually or alongside other interns from other corporate departments on business-critical projects to provide support and resources in line with the strategic priorities of the division.

This is a front-line Finance role working across a multi-faceted financial environment. They will implement activities, processes and procedures which support the existing team and the future growth of the division. They will build positive and effective working relationships with their client group and associates in order to drive the development, effectiveness, engagement and retention of the team in line with the needs of the division.

They will work to ensure the implementation of key financial planning initiatives including but not limited to enhanced financial and statistical forecasting processes, annual budget preparation, profit and loss accounting analysis, feasibility, financial compliance and efficiencies and overall improved financial reporting presentations. Responsibilities

FP&A
Support FP&A with EMEA corporate financials, including month end, forecasting and related report preparation for the divisional leadership team. Perform ad-hoc analysis depending on business partner requests.

Accounting Hotels

Financial Compliance

What you'll do

Lead in monthly close process for Operations & Shared Services; review results and research variances to provide explanations, troubleshoot questions/issues.
Preparation of month-end / quarter-end / year-end actuals reporting and forecast of financial results including executive dashboards, revenues, margins, purchased labor, and other expense drivers. Liaise and manage the external accounting firm relationships for assigned entities ensuring both cost effective use of support and legislative compliance of both local and US GAAP requirements. Audit and approve expense claims in the company's SAP Concur System. Train new hires for future proficiency of the system to minimise input errors and allow for a smooth, efficient and timely authorisation and payment process. Redirect incorrectly coded expenses when necessary by adhering to and applying the companies Travel & Entertainment (T&E) policy.
Conduct expenses analysis as part of the monthly cost center calls. This is to alert to any budget overrun or expense coding queries, and to accurately forecast expenses for the coming months.
Manage the yearly budget process in proactively alerting the cost center leaders and Finance team members in any changes relating to price/ rent increases that have been flagged by internal and external stakeholders throughout the year.

What you'll do

Required Qualifications/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required; an MBA or professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA are highly preferred.
3-5 years’ progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 3 years in the hospitality industry or a closely related field.
Proven track record of leading financial initiatives and contributing to strategic business decisions within a capital-intensive, customer-focused environment.
Extensive experience with financial systems and tools, including ERP platforms like Oracle or Hyperion, and advanced Excel skills for complex financial modeling and data analysis.
Experience in collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, with the ability to present financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Prior experience managing direct reports preferred.

The Manager, Remote Sales Support will be responsible for driving topline results among their assigned hotels by developing and implementing clear and measurable go-to-market sales initiatives.

What you'll do

This position supports the adoption of WHR derived programs, Global Sales strategies, Global account connectivity and lead the adoption, use, and continued support of assigned hotel revenue generating platforms and resources. In addition the Manager, Remote Sales Support will develop a strategic road map individualized to each assigned hotel to be utilized by the Franchisees and hotel associates. The Manager, Remote Sales Support will establish bi-weekly touchpoints that in combination will provide direction on how they are planning to leverage WHR’s vast set of resources. This role requires 10% travel to franchise locations.
