Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor (Room Service) to join our team at the Wyndham Garden Muscat location in Oman.

Job Summary

The Food & Beverage Supervisor(Room Service) will contribute to the performance of the hotel by Directing and supervising the activities of the F&B team members and the order taker assigned in the shift that he/she covers. The F&B supervisor needs to behave in a manner that will promote room service department and ensure all team members act in a manner that is in the best interest to the hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties
  • Knowledgeable of all the standard operating procedures of Room Service, guest amenities and VIP guests service.
  • Checks at the start of the shift that all supplies in the station are complete.
  • Takes orders, offers suggestions and promotes the specialties in the absence of the order taker.
  • Calls the guest in the room to inform for actual time of delivery in case of delay in service, as well as to confirm satisfaction.
  • Coordinates with the order taker to ensure quick delivery of food and consistency of tray pick up.
  • Implements the cleaning schedule established.
  • Capable of performing cashiering responsibilities, including the operation of cash register.
  • Checks each tray before they are delivered to the room and personally accompanies the service attendant in the delivery of guest amenities and food orders for VIP guests.
Other Duties
  • Checks and ensures the timely delivery of all guest amenities to the room, before guest checks in.
  • Checks at the start and at the end of the shift that all service attendants complete their opening and closing tasks.
  • Is responsible for the overall sanitation and cleanliness of the room service area.
  • Is responsible for ensuring sufficiency of manpower in the shift.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by immediate superior, which leads to guest satisfaction and profit for the Hotel.
Administrative duties
  • Completes the Room Service Daily Supervisor’s Checklist.
  • Conducts the shift briefing in the absence of your line Manager.
  • Takes the daily inventory of food & beverage supplies, and guest supplies to ensure availability.
  • Prepares breakage and loss report for operating equipment, during the shift.
  • Conducts monthly inventory of operating equipment in coordination with the Chief Steward.
  • Makes endorsement in the logbook at the end of the shift all guest comments, complains, accidents, unusual events or any matter that will affect the following shift.
  • Communicates to the immediate superior and subordinates in a timely manner, any important information, related to operation.
Human Resources
  • Assists your line manager in the administration of the probation review process in your department.
  • Ensures 100% compliance with all mandatory training for your department; as well as the Departmental Trainers are positively encouraged
  • Assists your line manager in controlling the LTO, Absence and Payroll in your department in conjunction with the HR Leader on property to ensure that any areas of concern and monitored and rectified to meet the HR BSC Targets.
  • Assists your line manager in Conducting interviews for relevant roles in conjunction HR
  • Ensure that you dine in the team member restaurant at least three times a week and provide HR Leader on property feedback
  • Support WeCom with quarterly People, Community and Sustainability engagement events
Communication
  • To conduct or chair regular communication meetings with your team
  • Conducted documented 121’s with all direct reports
  • Share all relevant information with your line manager in 121’s
Finance
  • Assists your line manager to Plan and track departmental budget 
  • Assists your line manager to Plan and track departmental holidays and lieu days as per the needs of the business

EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION
  • Technical Degree in Food and Beverage or Hospitality Management
  • 3 - 4 years of experience in F&B operations, out of which 1 year in a similar supervisory role
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus
