Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team at the Wyndham Garden Muscat location in Oman.

Job Summary

The Food & Beverage Supervisor will contribute to the performance of the hotel by supervising F&B team members in the designated sections and serving customers to ensure their needs are met with high quality service in a timely manner. The F&B Supervisor is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day restaurant operations as per the restaurant set standards and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General duties
  • Participates in achieving the organization’s goals, the set targets of the outlet and ensure proper implementation of the SOP.
  • Ensures that checklists, requisitions and proper opening and closing functions are being completed each shift.
  • Ensures that all steps of services as outlines in training materials are being followed on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that all standards and restaurant cash handling procedures are met.
  • Ensures all daily and monthly reports are detailed and submitted in a timely matter.
  • Assists the F&B manager in planning and setting up special meetings and events.
Communication & interaction
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff.
  • Communicates with guests and team members using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information.
  • Solicits feedback from guests concerning the service and food & beverage offerings in the outlet.
  • Does 121 training on service standards and quality on a regular interval or in case the need shows it
  • Conducts, upon need, briefings and monthly meeting for the assigned team members.
Customer satisfaction
  • Greets customers upon their arrival, present them with the menu, assist them in the selection and visit their table to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Proposes new, creative and sound alternatives to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Handles customer’s complaints appropriately while ensuring continuous client satisfaction.
  • Overviews the food and beverage preparation and presentation process before serving to meet customer satisfaction.
Training & Development
  • Conducts effective induction and orientation sessions.
  • Identifies and assesses future and current training needs.
  • Draws an overall or individualized training and development plan.
  • Monitors and evaluates the trainers and the training program’s effectiveness and success.
Human Resources
  • Assists the F&B Manager in the administration of the probation review process in your department.
  • Ensures 100% compliance with all mandatory training for your department; as well as the Departmental Trainers are positively encouraged
  • Assists the F&B Manager in controlling the LTO, Absence and Payroll in your department in conjunction with the HR Leader on property.
  • Assists F&B Manager in Conducting interviews for relevant roles in conjunction HR
  • Ensure that you dine in the team member restaurant at least three times a week and provide HR Leader on property feedback
  • Support WeCom with quarterly People, Community and Sustainability engagement events.
     
Communication
  • To conduct or chair regular communication meetings with your team and actively participate in relevant business meetings to facilitate effective communication.
  • Conducted documented 121’s with all direct reports
  • Share all relevant information with F&B Manager in 121’s

Alongside these key competencies, the incumbent of the role will be required to demonstrate the fundamentals of the company’s WeCom service culture to be responsive, respectful and deliver a great experience.

EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION
  • Technical Degree in Food and Beverage or Hospitality Management
  • 3 - 4 years of experience in F&B operations, out of which 2 year in a similar supervisory role
  • Good knowledge in both written and spoken English, any additional language is a plus.
