Job Summary

<span style="font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif;">The Cluster Training Manager is responsible for managing and leading the Learning and Development function at their property. They will conduct training needs analysis and implement action plans to address training needs; coordinate department trainers to deliver Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WH&R) training; oversee and support skills and standards training; conduct Management Development Modules.

Main tasks
  • Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Stock management of training materials and supplies to ensure adequate items are available to conduct training.
  • Assist the HRM for budgeting and managing the cost for training and Learning and Development.
  • Preparation of participant materials for all training interventions.
  • Assign and administer courses on Lobster Ink.
  • Prepare and Issue pre and post training communication.
  • Provide tracking of attending on required courses.
  • Register workshop participants and generate related documents.
  • Answer telephone and email messages. Respond accordingly.
  • Greet internal and external guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Regular meetings with Key Stakeholders to share updates and discuss any challenges and successes.
  • Making Team members aware of the training opportunities and provide necessary information.
  • Attend HRM meetings/webinars as required and network with peers within Wyndham.
  • Maintain communications with Regional Learning and Development Manager.
  • Evaluates department trainers’ performance and support to ensure a consistent level of quality in delivery.
  • Creates, collates and analyses pre and post training evaluations.
  • Supports HRM/ Director to ensure the hotel training plan is in-line with hotels strategic priorities.
Program Planning
  • Designs and conducts an annual training needs assessment to determine the hotel’s priorities.
  • Schedule regional workshops and other training to ensure all team members receive required training.
  • Supports HR Manager / Director to control training expenses and manage expenditures to meet the hotel’s needs while remaining within budget guidelines.
  • Is familiar with Guest Service reports, Team member Engagement Survey (AES) results and action plans, and mystery shopper or quality audit reports. Use these results to determine training needs.
  • Utilizes outside vendors and industry resources to meet the property’s training needs, within budget guidelines.
  • Coordinates and supports hotel trainings and scheduling training.
  • Designs and prepares training aids and materials.
Training Delivery
  • Managing and conducting orientation program for new Team members introducing the business and culture.
  • Conducts training, using the Wyndham Facilitator’s Guides or other materials as necessary.
  • Supports Training Manager / Director to implement training programs to address the hotel’s training needs.
  • Conducts Train the Trainer.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Database management skills.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements.
  • Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Ability to prepare basic statistical analyses and summaries.

Alongside these key competencies, the incumbent of the role will be required to demonstrate the fundamentals of the company’s Count on Me! service culture to be responsive, respectful and deliver a great experience.

Experience and qualification
  • Diploma/Degree in hospitality management and relevant discipline
  • 2-3 years in a similar role
  • Fluency verbal and written in English
  • IT Literacy
  • Hotel working experience in both Learning and Development and Operations
  • Able to use Microsoft office programmes including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
