Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Valet/Driver to join our team at the Wyndham Garden Muscat location in Oman.

Job Summary

The Driver & Valet Attendant is responsible for driving guests to determined destinations and is also in charge of finding a good parking space for the guests in addition to accommodating guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner.   He/she is also responsible for assisting the guest with the luggage, parking and obtaining cars and keeping the keys safe.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Main Duties
  • Is Responsible for safe transfer of guests to and from all determined locations.
  • Is always courteous, attentive, friendly and service oriented with guests, colleagues and customers from all levels.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Registers the vehicle and carry out all registration requirements.
  • Drives safely at all times following all traffic rules and laws.
  • Maintains good knowledge of the city routes locations and hotel facilities.
  • Maintains knowledge of flight timings and assist guest in handling and loading baggage whenever required.
  • Is pro-active in for example learning names of guests, especially repeat and long staying guests remaining alert to situations to offer assistance.
  • Manage parking area
Other Duties
  • Assesses and document any vehicle damage before taking the guests vehicle.
  • Is Knowledgeable about procedure of how to deal with damages, insurance follow up etc.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of facilities and services of the hotel and use this knowledge to promote the hotel to guests.
  • Assists Bellboy's in greeting the guests with undivided attention and open doors whenever possible.
  • Keeps abreast of activities in the city which may affect driving times or routes and relays this to management.
  • Is Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the car used for guest transfer and assists with maintaining vehicles to hotel presentation standards.
  • Is Responsible for the upkeep of all related equipment such as portable Wi-Fi, music player, airport signage etc.
  • Assists guests in placing their luggage in the car during arrival and departure.
  • Assists all departments in delivering items from suppliers and vendors.
Human Resources
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all mandatory training for your department;
  • Support WeCom with quarterly People, Community and Sustainability engagement events
Communication
  • Share all relevant information with your line manager in 121’s
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Excellent overall Guest Services skills
  • High command of professionalism with pleasant grooming and personality
  • Good command of English language
  • Flexible regarding working schedule including weekends, nights and public holidays
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Able to lift heavy items if required 

Alongside these key competencies, the incumbent of the role will be required to demonstrate the fundamentals of the company’s Count on Me! service culture to be responsive, respectful and deliver a great experience.

EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION
  • Previous experience in same/similar role highly preferred
  • High school diploma
  • Clean driving record and a valid, current and non-probationary driver’s license.
  • First aid certificate or other emergency related training certificates preferred
