The Role

This role will be part of Global Shared Services based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.


The GSS Accounting Operations Analyst will:

  • Support the Record to Report (R2R) process by preparing journal entries, performing subledger reconciliations, payroll activities, and ensuring the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities. 
  • Maintain the integrity of the fixed asset subledger through capitalization, disposals, depreciation, and related asset accounting processes.
  • Support intercompany transactions, corporate allocations, and consolidation activities to enable accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure strong compliance with accounting policies, documentation standards, and financial control requirements.

What you'll do

  • Create routine journal entries in accordance with schedules, accounting policies, and supporting documentation.
  • Perform intercompany transactions and eliminations and reconcile intercompany balances.
  • Perform corporate and overhead allocations, post allocation entries, and reconcile allocated balances.
  • Set up asset master data by validating project details and recording required classifications and attributes.
  • Perform capitalization of assets by reviewing supporting documentation and applying capitalization policies.
  • Process and record fixed asset transactions including additions, retirements, transfers, revaluation, disposals evaluation, and adjustments.
  • Calculate and record depreciation expense based on approved methods, useful lives, and classifications.
  • Perform sub ledger reconciliations (AP, AR, etc.) and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform GL close (monthly, quarterly, annual) by validating subledgers, posting adjustments, performing eliminations, reconciling accounts, locking the period, generating statements and management reports.
  • Record, reconcile, and validate payroll accounting, including payroll results, payroll‑related journal entries, payroll accounts reconciliations, and timing adjustments.

You'll be successful if you have

  • Knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS accounting principles and the Record to Report process.
  • Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, allocations, payroll, and month end close activities.
  • Familiarity with fixed asset accounting concepts including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
  • Ability to analyze subledger variances and resolve discrepancies with accuracy.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong documentation skills and adherence to accounting controls.
  • Ability to manage recurring monthly and quarterly deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the capacity to support cross regional operations.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounting or R2R operations.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, executing payroll activities, or supporting close processes.
  • Experience with fixed asset accounting preferred.
  • Experience in multi entity or shared services environments is a plus.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
