The Role
This role will be part of Global Shared Services based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
We are seeking an experienced Director, HR Functional Lead to oversee the day-to-day HR Operations within the new Global Shared Services (GSS). This role will have oversight of key operational processes across HR’s multi-functional areas. This role will have an initial focus of leading transition activities, including knowledge transfer, process stabilization, and readiness for steady-state operations. Once established, this senior leader will drive operational delivery, service excellence, compliance, talent development, and continuous improvement for all HR processes. Transitioned to the GSS.
The HR Director will partner closely with U.S. HR leaders to ensure consistent execution of corporate policies, Global and HR strategic initiatives, high-quality processing, and where applicable, achievement of operational KPIs/SLAs. The role is responsible for building and maturing a high-performing HR organization, embedding strong controls and data privacy practices, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to internal customers and business stakeholders.
What you'll do
The role’s responsibilities span two critical phases: (1) Building Out GSS and (2) BAU Operations.
Building GSS (in Partnership with U.S. Leadership & Project Teams):
- Strategy, Planning & Stand-Up: Support the development and implementation of the HR operating model within the Global Shared Services, ensuring key operational and HR processes are designed for efficiency, quality, compliance, scalability, and a positive team member experience.
- Talent & Organization: Partner with the Site Lead to define governance structures, workflows, escalation paths, and service models for each functional tower.
- Process Transition & Training: Partner with the Site Lead to ensure rigorous knowledge transfer, shadowing, parallel runs, and quality checkpoints prior to go‑live.
- Go-Live & Hypercare: Partner with the Site Lead to execute readiness assessments, drive issue resolution, and oversee stabilization during hyper care.
- Continuous Improvement & Transformation: Drive standardization, automation, workflow optimization, self‑service enablement, and controls enhancement across HR processes.
BAU Operations (Ongoing Leadership & Continuous Improvement):
HR Operations Oversight: Provide executive oversight across key operational processes for the HR activities transitioned to the GSS.
Human Resources oversight responsibilities include:
- Provide executive governance and accountability for all HR services delivered through the Global Shared Services, ensuring alignment to enterprise HR strategy, policies, technology, and compliance requirements.
- Oversee and be accountable for end-to-end HR service delivery across all HR services including but not limited to: ensuring consistent quality, control, and employee experience.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex or high‑risk HR operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
- Establish and enforce service governance, SLAs, and performance management, using dashboards, metrics, and analytics to drive transparency and continuous improvement.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and control effectiveness across HR operations, including audit readiness, data privacy, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Lead change and capability evolution for the HR Global Shared Services model, including workforce planning, role design, leadership capacity, and operating model evolution to support future volume, complexity, and scalable ways of working to support future growth.
- Lead people management and workforce strategy for the GSS, partnering with HR and business leadership to address performance, capability, engagement, and employee relations matters.
You'll be successful if you have
- Proven experience leading HR operations within a Global Business Services model.
- Ability to provide change management strategy and execution as well as being open to changes in people, processes, and timelines across all HR functions.
- Strong understanding of U.S. HR operational processes and service delivery expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage operational risk, compliance, and internal controls in a high‑volume environment.
- Proven experience partnering with senior HR leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization, with a strong ability to build, influence, and sustain trusted relationships, navigate competing priorities, and drive alignment toward shared outcomes.
- Strong leadership, coaching, detail management, and workforce management capabilities.
- Ability to balance operational rigor with continuous improvement and transformation initiatives.
- Strong commitment and focus to stay closely connected to the US HR team leadership as well as overall area leads that will be looking for partnership, support and results from the Argentina based team members.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to include providing feedback and managing confidential information.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- 10-12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a global business service model or large-scale multinational HR Operations, or 5 plus years leadership experience within a Global Shared Service environment, with expertise across all HR functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. MBA, SHRM‑SCP/SPHR preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to design, transition, and scale HR services in a shared services environment; strong understanding of HRIS platforms (e.g., HR core systems, case management, LMS), workflow tools, KPIs/SLAs, and policy governance.
- Proven people leadership - able to build, coach, and inspire large teams; experienced in driving organizational change, process transformation, automation/self-service, and continuous improvement programs.
- Ability to leverage dashboards, analytics, and reporting tools; familiarity with automation, currency conversion, RPA, and AI-enabled process improvements; solid grasp of data privacy and controls across HR processes.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) required; Spanish strongly preferred given the Center’s location in Argentina.
