The Role

This role will be part of Global Shared Services based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.


The GSS Accounting Manager will:

  • Lead and coordinate key Record-to-Report (R2R) activities to ensure accurate, complete, and compliant financial reporting across multiple legal entities. 
  • Oversee routine journal entry preparation and review, sub‑ledger reconciliation processes, and full general ledger close execution across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, documentation standards, and close calendars. 
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate subledger flows and timely issue resolution.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all Accounting transactions, in accordance with the performance and quality standards defined in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • During the ramp-up and transition phase the Accounting Manager will be responsible for setting up the Accounting team and developing it into a well-organized and performing unit.

What you'll do

  • Provide oversight, review, and approval of recurring journal entries and intercompany transactions, ensuring adherence to accounting policies, proper eliminations, and complete reconciliation of intercompany balances.
  • Lead the corporate allocations and overhead allocation processes by establishing methodologies, validating allocation bases, approving entries, and ensuring accurate reconciliation of allocated balances.
  • Oversee the full fixed‑asset accounting cycle, including asset creation, classification, capitalization reviews, revaluation adjustments, depreciation accuracy, transfers, disposals, and audit‑ready asset master data governance.
  • Direct period‑end close activities by overseeing accruals, subledger reconciliations, general ledger validations, adjustments, eliminations, account reconciliations, and the finalization and release of financial statements.
  • Ensure accurate consolidated results by reviewing intercompany eliminations, group adjustments, financial consolidations, and internal management reports that support operational and strategic decision‑making.
  • Provide leadership over payroll accounting, ensuring accurate recording of payroll results, reconciliations of payroll accounts, and timely posting of payroll‑related entries.
  • Review and approve low‑risk or recurring accounting memos by evaluating facts, interpreting accounting guidance, and ensuring appropriate policy application.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation standards, ensuring audit readiness and timely support for internal and external audit requests.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing accounting team, driving continuous improvement, process standardization, system optimization, and adherence to best‑practice accounting and control frameworks. 

You'll be successful if you have

  • Strong understanding of R2R processes including journal entries, general ledger close, and subledger reconciliation.
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS and accounting policy requirements.
  • Understanding of payroll accounting flows, benefits, and related reconciliations.
  • Ability to lead, plan, organize, and prioritize in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, multi‑entity environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex datasets and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in financial data handling.
  • Risk Management – Guarantor of compliance with corporate policies and accounting regulations.
  • Skilled in driving process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma principles.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to enforce policy and control discipline.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the capacity to support cross‑regional operations.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA or equivalent). Master’s degree in Finance or related field also preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in Accounting, R2R, General Ledger, or related operational accounting roles.
  • Experience working in Shared Services Centers, within complex environments and large volumes of operation.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs). 
  • Experience in transitioning AR activities to Shared Services Center environments (creation of desktop procedures, work shadowing, etc.)
  • Preferred certifications: CMA, Lean/Six Sigma. 
  • Hospitality, retail, or multi-location industry experience is strongly preferred.
