Job Summary

The Manager, Leisure Sales will be responsible for driving topline results among its assigned portfolio of Hotels by developing and implementing clear, measurable and proactive go-to-market sales initiatives. The Manager supports the adoption of WHR derived programs, Global Sales strategies, Global account connectivity and lead the adoption, use, and continued support of assigned hotel revenue generating platforms and resources. In addition, the Manager, Leisure Sales will develop a strategic road map individualized to each assigned hotel.  The Sales Manager will establish bi-weekly touchpoints that in combination will provide direction on how they are planning to leverage WHR’s vast set of resources.

This position is responsible for identifying, creating and maintaining customer relationships to increase business and revenue at all Wyndham Hotels & Resorts properties most importantly and as a majority of the business for the Latin America & Caribbean hotels (unless otherwise assigned)  in  Mexico. The Sales Manager is responsible for prospecting, managing, maintaining and closing on an assigned territory with targeted accounts. The position will primarily be focused upon developing revenue from Leisure customers in market in conjunction with the other Sales team members in the territory. The Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and managing the relationship with select Global accounts and maximizing all opportunities through those accounts within the Country of Mexico and other countries as determined by the Company. The Sales Manager is required to develop face-to-face business relationships with customers and represents WHR at industry, global, national and regional functions, trade shows and missions. The Sales Manager will represent Wyndham Hotels & Resorts within the hotel industry and be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of WHR brands. The Sales Manager will work closely with the Wyndham Latin America & Caribbean team and will deliver customer business to new and existing hotels within the region and for working closely with the franchise community of operating hotels within the region.

Responsibilities

Achieve and/or exceed annual revenue goals in line with the department’s annual strategic plan. This will be accomplished by:

External Customer Facing:

  • Account Management: Must include re-qualifying owned and potential accounts. Strategically managing current account base through tactical approach to drive revenues. Utilize account management system to document and profile all account activity and information.
  • Create and maintain strong customer relationships with assigned accounts or new accounts and utilizing account management system to manage the process, account development and information. 
  • Customer Relationships requires face-to-face contact to develop and nurture relationships.  This includes but is not limited to personal visits, entertainment, industry events, trade shows and client site inspections.
  • This position will be assigned an annual revenue goal that is developed at the account level for each managed account.  

Hotel Partnerships:

  • Work hand in hand with the Sales team to develop and implement communication, marketing, and action plans for accounts that align with the accounts internal customer communication methods.
  • Effective communication with internal customers including Directors of Operations, Sales, RM, and property sales team to maximize and leverage all revenue opportunities. Assist hotels where needed in educational opportunities of specific accounts and market.
  • Be able to educate hotels on how to submit Wish List and Business Cases to advance business opportunities from Global Sales.
  • Assist hotels to utilize Lanyon and help to translate the process for the hotels to ensure that the hotels are properly listed and have current content, rates loaded.
  • Work with the hotels to ensure that they have uploaded content and photos for use by the GSO for Lanyon, Cvent and within all GSO customer facing documents.
  • Develop presentation decks and brand overviews for customers to help educate customers and properties about the WHR brands and the region.

Sales Administration:

  • Be responsible for administration of associated work including but not limited to expense reporting, booking of travel and office administration:  100% compliance required on departmental SOP’s.
  • Utilize Sales Force as the system of record for all customer transaction and discussions.
  • Participate as needed in weekly, monthly meetings with LATAMC regional team, marketing team, and sales team.

  • Sales and persuasion skills are indispensable requirements for this position in order to develop market.

  • Excellent computer skills; Microsoft Office; Excel, Salesforce.com etc.

Travel Requirements

  • As requested for trade shows, sales missions, internal meetings and customer appointments 50% to 60% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid driver's license/passport.
  • Languages: fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Previous experience in hotel sales, field sales, resort destinations is required. (3 years minimum).
  • Business relationships in the Leisure Travel Community.
  • Proficiency in use of Technology and Business Applications for the Hotel Industry. Working knowledge of the following systems:
    • Lanyon.
    • Global Distribution Systems.
    • Salesforce.com.
    • On Line Booking Tools.
