Dolce is now seeking a Grounds Supervisor to join our team at the Dolce Seaview location in GallowayNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the design and development of land areas, parks and other recreational facilities, and for ensuring the efficient operation of the day-to-day activities and tasks of the Landscaping Department.  He/She is responsible for maintaining the grounds, plants and landscaped areas of the property to ensure quality of the guest experience, while remaining within budget guidelines.

Education & Experience

  • At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Must be proficient in Windows 95, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing

Physical Requirements

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

  • Comply with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Landscaping personnel according to Wyndham SOP's.
  • Prepare and conduct all Landscaping interviews and follow hiring procedures according to Wyndham International SOP's.  Actively support Human Resources with recruiting efforts.  Ensure that all managers are in compliance with the standards in their interviewing and hiring procedures.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments.
  • Ensure implementation of all Wyndham policies and house rules.  Understand hospitality terms.
  • Compile and analyze data on site conditions such as geographic location; soil, vegetation and rock features; drainage; location of structures.
  • Prepare environmental impact reports and develop landscaping plans.
  • Inspect construction work in progress to ensure compliance with landscape specifications, to approve quality of materials and work, and to advise property and construction personnel on landscape features.
  • Monitor expenses to ensure expense control and maximize profit, using checkbook accounting as a control mechanism.
  • Conduct walk-throughs of public areas to ensure that cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
  • Monitor labor expenses through schedule approval process and ensure budgeted productivity.
  • Operate pagers and radios efficiently and professionally in communicating with hotel staff.
