Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Assistant Management Accountant EMEA to join our team in London.

Job Summary

The Assistant Management Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely performance of various functions in support of the month-end close and reporting process of WHR EMEA Regional entities.  The responsibilities will include the preparation of monthly journal entries, review of financial statements, preparing and / or reviewing balance sheet accounting reconciliations, and ensuring robust reporting systems to provide relevant and timely information to internal, and where required external, Finance counter-parties (e.g. Tax and Accounting Specialist). They will also be required to support the AP process and quarterly reporting and audit cycles by preparing reporting schedules and assisting with external audit requests, and overall ensuring proper accounting treatment of transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”),

In addition to the supporting the close process, this position will be responsible for preparing statutory financial statements and supporting schedules in connection with our various statutory audits.  The candidate will also assist with special projects that arise throughout the year.

The candidate should be self motivated and will be required to independently take action to achieve the organization’s goals.  The candidate should have strong PC skills, including Excel, and ideally Oracle and Hyperion (Enterprise/HFM) and strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Scope/Financial Responsibility

Assist in the preparation and review of WHR financial results through balance sheet and profit and loss analysis and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. 

Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills

1)  Strong technical accounting and analytical skills

2)  Knowledge of practices and concepts associated with GAAP

3)  Strong PC skills, including Excel, Oracle and Hyperion (HFM)

4)  Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external contacts

5)  Detail oriented, self-motivated and able to work individually and on cross functional teams

6)  Innovative team player that challenges current processes


1)  CIMA/ACA or equivalent

2)  3-4 years of progressive accounting experience

3)  European languages an advantage, but not essential
