Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking an Intern IT Hotel Systems EMEA to join our team in London, UK.

The Internship

The Intern IT Hotel Systems EMEA ensures that communication, processes, features, and functionality flow efficiently between the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (WHR) corporate team, hotels and WHR’s IT solution partner. This position requires working knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as strong communication and project management skills. The job holder will be working closely with WHR’s functional leads. This role is both hospitality operational and process slanted, but business acumen will be key to ensure that new and improved processes and procedures are driven and adopted based on data and business needs. As this position is cross-functional, it will reside within the Information Technology (IT) department of WHR.

 

The position will be responsible for data collection and will be the first step towards learning WHR connectivity processes that would enable technical support to our managed hotels’ IT teams for system requirements including hardware, software, networks, applications, and general technology maintenance and requests across UK and Europe. The role will also provide support to our franchised hotels with regards to the implementation of Wyndham Corporate systems, specifically PMS and interface links to relevant Wyndham Central Services. They will work closely with the teams based in EMEA and US, HTCS to ensure that appropriate support is delivered to hotels and is completed within the frameworks and processes of the wider organisation. 

Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Compliance

  • Responsible for processing SSL certificates, DNS records and other domain related requests with the WHR Infrastructure team.
  • Work with team leads on the communication and roll out of WHR initiatives on security, PCI, data privacy and data protection for both managed and franchised hotels.
  • Responsible for opening tickets and following up with the WHR Support team.
  • Work closely with the New Openings Specialist EMEA to prepare hotels for PMS choice and TWI activation.

2. Systems & Inventory

  • Data collection on all applications used in managed and franchised hotels, such as credit tokenization, HSIA, PMS, POS, key card system, PABX and Wi-Fi systems.

3. Documentation, Reporting & SOP

  • Work with team leads to ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) exist for all areas of systems.
  • Work with team leads on monthly reporting with regards to compliance and TWI activation.
  • Prepare a list of support challenges to be addressed.
  • Work with team leads to develop a critical path and process on deployment.
  • Work with team leads on reporting with regards to system inventory and version control.
  • Work with team leads to prepare IT audit documents and follow up with managed hotels to implement required actions. 

4. Support

  • Travel to support hotels with the new opening process and implementation of IT systems.
  • Responsibility for special projects as needed to support our technology environment.

5. Internship Group Project: all Interns will be involved in a business-critical project during their internship

Complexity

The main responsibility of the Intern IT Hotel Systems EMEA is to work with team leads to coordinate among hotels for data collection, learn the WHR processes on TWI, and coordinate hotel requirements and escalations across UK and Europe. They will also be responsible for the coordination of system upgrades, version control and project management. The position may also require traveling and to be deputed as task force for new hotel openings.

Experience/ Certificates/ Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Application, Engineering or similar IT field.
  • The ideal candidate should already have experience in IT hotel systems and have completed a work experience in a hotel or office environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Other languages, particularly German and French, are an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

  • £21,000 gross per annum, prorated for the duration of the internship 
  • 25 days of holidays per annum (accrued basis)
