Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Account Director Leisure Sales - North & West Europe to join our team in the UK

Job Summary

The Account Director Leisure Sales - North & West Europe will drive awareness of and revenue into our Wyndham Hotel & Resorts (WHR) franchised and managed hotels across all brands around the globe but with a focus on key resort hotels in the EMEA region. They will be responsible for creating strategies and implementing them in order to develop and manage a defined portfolio of accounts based throughout Europe that specialize in the Leisure segment. This position requires a consultative sales approach, acting in partnership with the agent and/or their client company to build and develop a strong lasting relationship. They will work to exceed agreed annual revenue goals by taking sole responsibility for their portfolio of Leisure clients, this will involve but is not limited to developing new B2B Tour Operator leisure accounts across North & West Europe, negotiating and contracting rates for key clients at WH&R hotels globally, instigating and implementing sales and marketing plans for their top clients,  developing and implementing a communication plan to keep clients updated on WH&R properties and handling all group leads & solicitations into WH&R properties, primarily through our Group sales team in the US and our proprietary GO Leads system.    


The Account Director Leisure Sales - North & West Europe will drive significant revenue opportunities into the WH&R portfolio of brands and hotels. They will negotiate directly with all clients for the best potential agreement, prior to offering this to the hotels for their consideration & participation. They will manage Key European centered accounts that have the ability to buy across our brand range and across borders into our developing global network. The Account Director Leisure Sales - North & West Europe can be field based or based in the London Hammersmith Office and will also travel frequently within EMEA   


They will take responsibility for

  • Developing new B2B leisure clients from key European source markets, including but not limited to UK, Germany, Scandinavia and Poland.
  • Working with Key Franchisees to understand their leisure client needs and develop individual strategic plans to support this with their clients.
  • Represent the Tour Operator sector within WH&R and be instrumental in developing strategies for the company that will increase revenue from this segment.
  • Train new starters on WH&R systems and the agreed processes of working within their specialized sectors.
  • Host and organize Fam Trips, presentation opportunities, Sales Missions, Webinars etc to enable WH&R Franchisees to interact with WHG customers.
  • Compile and submit bi-weekly reports on key activities and wins to senior management
  • Handle and resolve customer service issues

Scope/Financial Responsibility

Although this position does not manage a cost center, it is the responsibility of the Account Director Leisure Sales - North & West Europe to manage their expenses accordingly. All employees must review costs of sale and ROI for all business trips; marketing opportunities and overall spend in their region. The Employee is responsible for submitting a Travel and Entertainment Expense Report monthly.

Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills

  • Solid experience in the Leisure Segment, selling to Tour operators, wholesalers, agencies
  • Comprehensive commercial knowledge of hospitality sector in market place
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets
  • Flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of the business, taking on new ideas, initiatives, brands and responsibilities as they present themselves
  • Ability to work simultaneously on a number of initiatives and priorities often under pressure
