Ramada By Wyndham Manama City Centre is now seeking a Pool Attendant to join our team in Bahrain.

Job Summary

 

The Swimming Pool Attendant (Lifeguard) is responsible for ensuring guest and team members’ safety in the pool area.  He/she is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the pool, exercise room and pool area. The Lifeguard will act as a representative of our Count on Me! Service culture.

Education & Experience

 

  • Successful completion of Red Cross or equivalent Water/Life Safety course.
  • Successful completion of Red Cross or equivalent First Aid course.
  • Successful completion of accredited CPR course.

Fundamental Requirements

 

  • Ensure the safety and security of hotel guests and team members while in the pool area by monitoring pool usage and ensuring that all guests are abiding by published safety rules and guidelines.
  • Actively guards and scan the pool area at all times; refrains from socializing while guarding
  • Enforce pool policies while providing a high level of guest service
  • Ensure that only registered guests and their guests utilize the pool/exercise room facilities.
  • As directed by the Property Engineer, maintain proper chemical and temperature levels in the pool, whirlpool, sauna, etc., to ensure guest comfort and adherence to regulations.
  • Ensure the safety of all exercise equipment by checking daily or as directed by the Property Engineer, if applicable.
  • Ensure the upkeep, cleanliness and housekeeping of the pool area; utilize a pool area checklist to monitor quality on a regular basis.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of pool restrooms/locker rooms and maintain a sufficient inventory of supplies.
  • Ensure the upkeep of the pool by performing general cleaning including pool furniture.
  • Assist as needed with the processing of pool area linen to ensure that a supply of towels is maintained at all times.
  • Ensure the maintenance, housekeeping and upkeep of the spa/whirlpool (if applicable).
  • Sweep pool area, empty ashtrays and trash containers.
  • Complete daily reports and logs as required.

 

General Requirements

 

  • Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
  • Attend and participate in regular in-service trainings.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for all patrons.
  • Document any incidents and/or injuries.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work space
  • Dress and appearance are consistent with WHRS standards including wearing approved uniform, whistle and tube while on duty
  • Responsible for doing all preparations before and during the service, like preparing tables and polish cutlery.
  • Have an extensive knowledge of the menu
  • Explaining the menu and advising the guest on their decision-making, taking orders and ensure proper service of the order is delivered to guests.
  • Liaising with management for advice if required.
  • Communicating with the kitchen about the orders and being very clear about special wishes of guests.
  • Consistently upsell of food and beverages and making guests aware of promotions.
  • Dealing with the payments and doing closure paperwork if required.
  • Responsible for cleaning tasks during and after service.
  • Attend departmental meetings if required
