Job Summary
The Account Director, Strategic Global Tour Operator Partnerships - EMEA will orchestrate the ideation and execution of comprehensive strategic plans to foster, solidify, and leverage relationships with major tour operators within the EMEA region. As a top-tier executive, the role demands expertise in stimulating global expansion and amplifying the visibility of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts' (WHR) franchised and managed hotels across all brand portfolios. The incumbent will be instrumental in galvanizing revenue growth from existing and potential tour operator accounts across the territory and will shoulder complete accountability for the tour operator sales strategy. They will employ a collaborative, consultative approach to liaise between clients, internal distribution teams, and hotels, thereby escalating revenue opportunities and market share. The role’s performance will be evaluated based on consumed revenues, market share growth, and other strategic performance indicators..
Complexity
The Account Director, Strategic Global Tour Operator Partnerships EMEA will be responsible for instigating significant revenue opportunities for the WHR portfolio of brands and hotels
The role involves direct negotiations with clients to secure the most favourable agreements, followed by presenting these to hotels for their consideration
The role entails the management of globally recognized tour operator accounts with the capability to traverse our brand portfolios and geographical markets
The incumbent will operate with significant autonomy, driving new and existing accounts, and making strategic business decisions
They will also collaborate with overseas colleagues to foster the growth of accounts within their territory
Scope/Financial Responsibility
The Account Director, Strategic Global Tour Operator Partnerships EMEA will oversee a comprehensive portfolio of accounts across the territory, each with a significant potential revenue value
They will establish and attain ambitious revenue targets in accordance with their line manager and participate in the WHR GSO Individual Sales Incentive Plan
The role will be accountable for managing expenses and consumables within the pre-determined annual budget
The incumbent will be responsible for submitting regular Travel & Entertainment Expense Reports
Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills
An industry veteran with a robust background in the hotel and travel industry, demonstrating an unparalleled blend of sales, distribution, and strategic marketing skills
Proven success in global account management and strategic partnership development within commercial roles in the travel/hospitality industry
Demonstrable strategic prowess and an extensive network in the leisure segment of hospitality and tourism-related sectors
Deep understanding of Wyndham's processes and systems related to Distribution and Sales globally
Exceptional business acumen, capable of making informed business decisions that consider potential costs and benefits of partnerships
ommercially focused, results-oriented, with a high level of initiative and accountability
Fluent English & German proficiency is mandatory, and knowledge of additional languages is advantageous
Superior communication skills, with the ability to network and build effective relationships at all organizational levels
High level of adaptability to adjust to the dynamic needs of the business
Experience/Certificates/Education
Master's Degree or equivalent experience in a hospitality or commercial discipline
Extensive executive experience in hotel/travel sales at a national or global level, ideally in a corporate office environment
Full local driving license preferred
Fluency in written and spoken English and German is mandatory, with proficiency in additional European languages advantageous
Mastery of Microsoft office programs is required
Previous experience of working with lead generation and CRM systems is vital
Experience with hotel-specific operating and reservation systems is highly advantageous
