Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Director Regional Sales - Europe to join our team in Germany.


The Director Regional Sales - Europe will have ultimate responsibility for driving and supporting the Sales engagement, process and contributions of our WH&R franchised hotels in the region. This will extend to both individual hotels and those belonging to an ownership and/or management company. They will own the Sales relationship and through their engagement with the WH&R Global Sales Team they will drive contribution to our strategic franchise partners, such as H-Hotels, GCH, G Star, Zeus, Welcome Break and others, ensuring full participation in all revenue generating programs and maximising on their affiliation with WH&R. They will focus on identifying revenue generating opportunities for their portfolio of European hotels and each hotel's contribution growth, directing members of the WH&R GSO Team from a variety of country markets and business segments. They will  ensure each hotel is utilising the many ‘Sales tools’ offered through their affiliation with WH&R by measuring and managing their participation at various events including but not limited to Trade Shows, Sales Blitz/Missions, Sales Workshops, Client Events and Sales Trainings.


They will attend all scheduled Business Review Meetings alongside the Regional Vice President, as well as provide valuable insight and sales guidance at critical stages including the ‘on-boarding’ of new hotels; when a hotel renewal is up and/or when owners are dissatisfied.


The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the franchised hotels to ensure they drive the maximum opportunity through the Lanyon RFP and GO Lead solicitations tools. They will then work with hotels on the conversion of these RFPs and leads into definite business. It will be the Director Regional Sales - Europe’s responsibility to encourage the hotels to grow their existing accounts and to generate new business to maximize revenue, market share and profits, to improve each hotel’s performance index in the marketplace and ultimately their contribution and fees to WH&R.

• Comprehensive commercial knowledge of the hospitality sector in the European market
• Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and targets
• Flexibility to adjust to the changing needs of the business, taking on and identifying new ideas, initiatives, brands and responsibilities as they present themselves
• Ability to work simultaneously on a number of initiatives and priorities often under pressure
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with people at all levels and from all backgrounds and parts of the world
• Ability to stay objective and fair when dealing with sensitive internal/external customer situations maintaining constructive working relations
• Self-starter, exhibiting initiative, confidence, professionalism and good judgment
• Works with a high level of accountability, results orientated and dependable
• Ability to make business decisions with integrity and honesty


• Recent experience as an on property DOSM or Cluster DOSM
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a hospitality or business related discipline
• Significant hotel sales experience in all segments (MICE, corporate, leisure)
• Proven skills in questioning, negotiation, presentation and closing techniques
• Prior experience within a GSO environment is preferred, but not essential.
• Experience within a franchised environment would be an advantage.
• Must be a fully competent user of Microsoft Office programmes including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
• Must have previous experience of working with CRM data management systems and hospitality CRS systems
• Must have experience, detailed understanding and confidence to present and train franchisees
• Full valid driving license is required.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and German is essential.
• Must be able to travel throughout the EMEA region and beyond as required


The Director Regional Sales - Europe will provide a high level of support and leadership to our franchised hotels, especially the larger ones and those belonging to either an ownership or management group. They will assist these hotels in maximizing their potential from the WH&R Global Sales offering through the provision of their subject matter expertise. They will also assist their Global Sales and Operations colleagues with support from their portfolio of hotels as required and needed.

Scope/Financial Responsibility

Although this position does not manage a separate cost centre at this time, it is the responsibility of the Director Regional Sales - Europe to manage their expenses accordingly. This role will hold a high level of direction within our franchisee community and will act as an ambassador for the company and our brands as we expand our visibility throughout the EMEA region.

Organizational Relationships

The incumbent will be field-based, preferably based in Germany (or must speak fluent German) and will report to the Senior Director MICE Sales EMEA & Regional Sales Europe.
