Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Cash Analyst to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the timely and accurate accounting of the company’s cash transaction and related cash accounts.  Heavy emphasis on bank reconciliations and transaction resolution.  Additional responsibility includes liaison with properties and banks.  Responsible for the accurate and timely performance of various assigned functions in support of the month-end close and reporting process. Ensures the accuracy of assigned Managed Hotel financial statements, reports and data files; reviews the financial results and provides communication to management. May also be involved on special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and other requests from the sales, marketing, corporate, resort management, and/or finance.

• This position will prepare monthly reconciliations of multiple bank accounts at both the corporate and hotel level.  
• Required to do detailed research, and pulling reports from Synxis.
• Prepares general ledger journal entries.
• Reviews and analyzes assigned accounts.
• Research and investigate inquiries presented by properties or other departments.
• Research and provide documentation to management for internal and external auditors.
• Work with internal and external auditors to provide required documentation for the audit.
• Able to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
• Provide research support to internal and external clients as it pertains to bank account reconciliations on a routine basis.
• Responds to and handles unfamiliar situations with direct supervisory
• Perform special projects or other tasks as assigned.

Abilities & Competencies

• Ability to efficiently prepare bank reconciliations of varying complexity in good form.
• Willingness to follow clearly prescribed standard policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to handle confidential material, and meet required deadlines.
• Possess strong problem-solving, organization, technical, and quantitative analysis skills.
• Makes routine decisions: work may occasionally involve non-standard assignments: however, the methodology is normally prescribed in detail by the immediate supervisor.
• Must work well in a dynamic team environment.
• Demonstrates proficiency in MS Excel, Access, Office, Outlook and ten-key by touch. 
• Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.  Able to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization.
• Accept the possibility of working extended hours to meet deadlines
• This position will actively participate in helping train, or assist any temporaries that are here to help with bank reconciliations.
• Understanding of financial statements and their relevance and interrelations.
• Understanding of Accounting controls and regulations and ensure compliance.
• Understanding of US GAAP
• Work is analytical, non-standard and widely varied requiring the interpretation and application of a variety of policies and procedures.  Analytic ability and inductive thinking are required for the application of multiple, technical activities.  Problem solving involves identification and analysis of diverse issues.
• High level of accuracy and consistency.
• Advanced Excel skills including the ability to modify formulas, use vlookups and pivot tables.
• Balance Sheet account reconciliation and analysis experience.
• Proven ability to interact effectively within the department and with others.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented.
• ReconNet experience preferred.
• Oracle Financials experience preferred.

Education & Experience

MINIMUM EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate relevant experience.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• 1 to 2 years of bank reconciliation and related general ledger experience required.
• Hotel accounting experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of US GAAP.
