Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Data Analyst, Sourcing to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Data Analyst works as a partner among the Sourcing Operations team in order to elicit, analyze, and report on and communicate business performance.  The person in this role is responsible for identifying key performance indicators by category, team, and supplier while creating, consolidating, maintaining and managing the information. Consolidated performance data resulting from the Analyst’s reports will be used to make key business decisions, specifically intended to drive compliance and participation in preferred supplier programs

  • Coordinate and collect A/P Company spend data quarterly from multiple systems/sources
  • Work with third party spend management vendor and Sourcing on data cleansing exercises and classifying/grouping spend into appropriate categories
  • Assist third party spend management vendor on consolidating top supplier reports into reporting platform
  • Complete brand level Compliance reporting
  • Creating a long term solution to the consolidation/reporting of all third party franchisee data spend
  • Partner with Sourcing Management to develop KPIs that educate others on the success of the department's programs
  • e-Procurement Administration and various Ad-hoc reporting requests and additional department support



The Data Analyst will operate at a medium-level of autonomy.  Decision making would be limited to categorization of data. Their decisions and ability to consolidate data and complete accurate reports will help assist WH&R in improving compliance and growing revenue.  This position will not have any direct reports.

Scope/Financial Responsibility

This position is expected to lead the effort in compiling and consolidating third party product sale.  By compiling and analyzing this data, we are expected to improve compliance & participation in our vendor programs. We can then target marketing efforts to further grow compliance and commission revenue as well as better equipping our team on making business decisions. 

Abilities/Key Competencies/Skills

• Strong general technical acumen across various technologies and applications, with a proven ability to understand, navigate business analytics-based solutions
• Proven experience implementing analytics tools and platforms for large organizations
• Data warehousing and business intelligence strategy and platform experience
• Database querying languages a plus
• Experience mining and cleansing data and presenting opportunity analysis to the team and executive management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables) are critical
• Financial systems experience is critical (understanding accounting/finance, chart of accounts, general ledgers, etc.)
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate and work well with supervisors, colleagues and individuals both inside and outside of the company
• Must be highly organized and have the ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable expectations for initiative and independent judgment
• Employee must be able to work both independently and in a team structure 

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a subject such as mathematics, statistics, economics, marketing, finance, or computer science
• 4-5 years of professional experience utilizing the data analytical skills described above
