Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Director, Revenue Optimization to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Director, Revenue Optimization is responsible for growing marketshare for specific sets of hotels (including focus brands, focus properties, focus geographies etc.) by analyzing performance, formulating short term and long term revenue strategies, and executing them in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Operations. The candidate will study various models of grouping properties by performance to arrive at and report out on challenges for those groupings. This role’s key skills in Revenue Management will help devise customized strategies balancing segments, channel production, and pricing to mitigate the identified challenges. The candidate will utilize their relationship skills to work in partnership with other Revenue Generation departments to put the customized plans in action. This includes listening to the voice of the franchisees with an owner first philosophy to proactively solve their challenges. Ultimately, the role is responsible for tracking performance, and showing results in these various property groupings.

 

The position will work very closely with the Global Distribution and Connectivity, Sales, Brand Marketing, Digital, Loyalty, and IT teams. The success of this position will be measured in KPIs ranging from RevPar Index growth and Channel mix targets, to project completion milestones. Leveraging our current tools, position will also ensure our franchisees receive the strategic support necessary, including training, to successfully implement revenue strategies in their hotels.

 

The position will report directly to the Vice-President, Revenue Optimization.

Education & Experience

•    Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Marketing, Finance, IT or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. 
•    5+ years of progressive work-related experience in hotel revenue management or related fields roles like yield management, pricing, inventory management etc. is essential
•    Strong knowledge of distribution channels, Hotel PMS / CRS and revenue management systems required including knowledge and experience in hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization, and selling strategies. 
•    Analytical – Ability to review numbers and draw quick conclusions about past and future trends from data
•    Knowledge of customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, and lifetime value maximization is a plus but not required 
•    Ability to communicate business needs to the Business Intelligence Group.
•    Ability to prepare high quality presentations in PowerPoint, effective presentation skills for a varied audience from franchisees, owners, peers, internal stakeholders, to Executive Committee

Responsibilities

Analyze market conditions through various analyses, formulate a comprehensive revenue and customer strategy for specific brands and/or property groupings, and execute it with the help of our Operations partners and franchisees to succeed in RPI and Revenue growth across the portfolio
Work directly with franchisees and owners to influence their strategies on a short and long term basis, driving adoption of tools and revenue management capabilities developed for them. Increasing adoption of tools and strategies is an important part of this role
Educating franchisees and internal teams via webinars, in-person trainings, property visits, to drive strategy adoption and troubleshooting
Develop and maintain Analyses and Success Metrics, ROI measurement.
Provide input and be the subject matter expert in various RM projects that drive flexibility and new RM capabilities for franchisees and owners
