The Role

Assist the Wyndham Architecture, Design, and Construction team in the design and construction of our Franchisee's hotels across the United States. Review prototype documents and Brand standards, perform plan reviews, provide design assistance and sketches/renderings for Owners, write Property Improvement Plans (Pips), and visit sites under construction to review progress and ensure Brand standards are being met.

What you'll do

  • Become familiar with Brand prototype documents and standards
  • Present to the team your review of one Brand prototype, discuss the design concept and any improvement that could be made to the design.
  • Perform a full Architectural and MEP plan review
  • An example set of a Franchise's plans will be provided for your review, compare to Brand standards and provide a list of deviations you found
  • Provide a sketch\rendering of potential La Quinta conversion to an existing hotel.
  • Review the building type and Brand design standards and provide a sketch\rendering.
  • Write a Property Improvement Plan
  • Review site photos and Brand standards and write a Property Improvement Plan
  • Visit a hotel site under construction
  • Visit a hotel site under construction and provide a report on construction progress and any issues seen during the visit

You'll be successful if you have

  • Architectural Design, ability to review Architectural plans, understand not only Architecture but structural and MEP systems, Revit and Bluebeam software experience, good communication skills, ability to write and express design concepts.
  • Must be an strong independent worker with great work ethic.
     

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • A previous internship or summer work in an Architecture firm would be ideal, or a study aboard program to show a broad range of experience.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Be an undergraduate Rising Senior or pursuing a graduate degree.
