Manager, Cybersecurity Operations

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Manager, Cybersecurity Operations to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Manager Cybersecurity Operations will lead the team providing proactive 24 x 7 monitoring for Wyndham Worldwide and all its Business Unit’s information environment to detect, analyze, track, and mitigate external threats. He/She will provide oversight and direction of the Cybersecurity Event Center Team monitoring networks and systems globally. The Manager is also responsible for the management of the Team’s compliance to processes and procedures as well as its alignment to emerging threats and incident trends

Essential Job Functions

Management: 25%
•    Manage a team of Cybersecurity Engineers with a primary mission to proactively Manage Security Events that are escalated from our SOC. 
•    Manage a MSS SOC partnership
•    Help employees realize their potential by setting clear expectations, openly evaluating performance, upholding   accountability, and providing challenges (within and outside their team) to stretch employees’ skills.
•    Develop training plans for analysts which include effective communication, technical skills and response abilities


Systems Security 25%
•    Responsible for the daily management, direction, and workload of Cybersecurity Event Center personnel
•    Organizes and tracks team projects
•    Supports other IT team projects and initiatives
•    Provides reporting to  Management in areas such as project health, velocity, resource allocation and staffing
•    Develops and champions standards for the General Support of Security Applications


Operational Service Delivery 25%
•    Establishes levels of service standards and operating policies/procedures for applicable security monitoring systems
•    Manages relationships with external vendors for certain Cybersecurity Event Center functions
•    Responsible for maintaining the IT Operations Security Information and Event Management system
•    Provides operational reporting by practice areas on support investment such as average queue depth, incident and request resolution times,  and system capacity
•    Ensures continuity plans are maintained and tested in collaboration with other IT Operations managers
•    Provides support for all Security Incidents
•    Participates in the organization of after-hours maintenance efforts


Documentation 25%
•    Develops and champions security policy and documentation standards for the Cybersecurity Event Center
•    Ensures the delivery of high quality documentation as required by the scope of a project, including the ability to support a warm-handoff to other teams for ongoing support
 

Non Essential Job Functions

Process Skills:
•    Strong attention to detail in conducting analysis combined with an ability to accurately record full documentation in support of the investigation.
•    Detailed knowledge of current regional and international best practices in the incident response arena.


Communication Skills:
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
•    Ability to communicate effectively with business representatives in explaining impacts and strategies and where necessary, in layman's terms.

General Requirements and Qualifications

•    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field experience
•    Must be available to collaborate with the IT Managers in a Global Environment. 

 

Certifications:
•    Industry standard information security and incident response certifications (CISSP, CISM, GCIA, GCIH, CEH, etc) or actively working towards these certs would be a plus
•    Memberships and participation in peer groups within the Cybersecurity space


Organizational Relationships
This position will need to communicate consistently with other areas of Information Security (IS Architecture, IS Operations, IS Compliance) as well as Business Unit IT teams to ensure that active threats discovered or determined to be legitimate are remediated effectively, and also that future threats to the organization will be properly guarded against.  These communications with these contact points will take place on a regular basis (daily – weekly).

This position will also build relationships with Senior Leadership within IT in all Business Units in order to establish trust and confidence in the individual’s ability to effectively navigate potential data breaches/compromises.
