The Role

The Global Communications team is searching for a talented Communications professional to play a critical role in helping drive external awareness and publicity for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, with a focus on U.S. and Canadian media relations.


The Manager, Corporate Communications position requires the individual be a skilled communicator, capable of developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with influential media nationally while navigating a complex global structure across multiple time zones and cultures. The role offers exposure and interaction with the highest levels of the organization, requiring accountability, poise, and professionalism at all times. Successfully managing and meeting varied and competing deadlines is a must. The role reports to the Senior Director, Global External Communications.


Day-to-day activities include, but may not be limited to: pitch development; press release drafting; media research; media relationship management; crisis/reputation management support; media monitoring and reporting; and management of the Company’s corporate website. The role requires close collaboration with key departments throughout the organization, including Development, Global Sales, IT, Operations, Investor Relations and more.


Given the nature of the 24-hour media landscape and the Communications department’s global remit, the position requires the candidate to be flexible and available in the event of crisis situations, company events or timely media inquiries. 


The role is remote with the ability to be based in Wyndham’s Parsippany, N.J. headquarters, if desired.

What you'll do

  • Media Relations – Build, maintain and leverage relationships with top tier business and trade media to drive publicity around new Corporate initiatives, hotel openings and other milestones. Includes regular coordination with Wyndham’s broader Global Communications team, including counterparts outside of North America.
  • Narrative Development – Support development of Wyndham’s global corporate narrative while helping create sub narratives for key functions like Development, ESG, Global Sales and IT. 
  • Thought Leadership – Support and help advance Wyndham’s thought leadership efforts, identifying and coordinating speaking engagements, roundtable opportunities and executive bylines.
  • Crisis Communications – Protect Wyndham’s reputation among key stakeholders by through support of the Company’s global Crisis Communications policies. Incldues drafting reactive statements for media and, when necessary, providing Communications counsel to Wyndham’s franchisees.
  • Website Management – Manage and maintain Wyndham’s corporate website.

  • Experience with media research and monitoring platforms.
  • High proficiency in social and digital media.
  • WordPress experience a plus.
  • Photoshop/graphic design/video editing/audio editing experience a plus.
  • Experience in travel or hospitality preferred.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in External Communications facing roles (Corporate or Agency).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Journalism, English or related field preferred.
