The Role
This position of Manager, Human Resources compliance will serve as a key member of the human resources function; monitoring, tracking, communicating and providing recommendations regarding state employment compliance requirements. These requirements include temporary ordinances, training and posting requirements, and local/or state laws that go into effect on many topics to include Human Trafficking, Sick Leaves, Emergency Safety Standards, PTO, and recruitment posting requirements. The manager will ensure that the company meets the local requirements to ensure compliance of our remote-based corporate team members, limiting risk and creating clear and consistent communication as a company. The role will work closely with our legal partners, HRMS, Payroll and HR leadership. Additionally, this role will serve as HR generalist support, providing guidance and partnership on the resolution of employment related matters, actioning employment requests, and answering team member questions. This role will also be the primary point of contact for the company’s external survey responses for HR.
What you'll do
- Managing and tracking state employment compliance (pre-hire, hire, training, termination, during employment, etc.) for corporate workforce based on their home location. Working with appropriate stakeholders and creating a process and communication plan to rollout requirements.
- HR generalist support, providing guidance and partnership for the resolution of employment related matters, actioning employment requests, and answering team member questions as needed by the team.
- Completion of various external surveys requesting HR information and other projects as requested.
- Document, track, maintain and communicate reporting on state employment compliance.
- Partner with learning & development on required training requirements to include population identification, communication, learning assignment, and vendor management.
- Liaison between HR, Legal, HRMS and Team Member to ensure specific state compliance.
- Partner with Internal Communications on team member-facing communications.
- Monitor and attend legal updates and training webinars.
- Monitor and identify state employment compliance requirements within HR and legal newsletters and updates (SHRM, legal newsletters, forums, etc.).
- Assist with HRMS system maintenance to update and maintain accuracy of information for contractor/temporary workers.
- Communicate and report annual employment requirements (training, acknowledgements, etc.)
- Identify and propose updates to standards and policies.
- Manage content of state-requirement section within intranet.
- Work closely with HRMS team on EEO-1 and Vets 4212 reporting, as needed.Administrator for legal compliance poster company.
- Monitor team member hires and relocations to ensure local compliance.
You'll be successful if you have
- Ability to effectively manage sensitive information in a confidential manner; displaying sound problem-solving and decision making skills to drive complex issues to successful resolution; excellent interpersonal, communication organization and time management skills.
- Prioritization and influencing without authority.
- 3-5 years of related experience preferred.
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Education- College degree with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
- Training requirements (licenses, programs or certificates)- SHRM/HRCI certificate preferred. Experience working in a legal function is a plus.
