Manager, IT Financial Operations

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Manager, IT Financial Operations to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Manager, IT Financial Operations (Manager) supports all of WHR PMO, Finance and Compliance and is responsible for oversight for all IT project controls, project compliance and financial and invoice management. The Manager also supports M&A integrations, user training, SharePoint governance and ad hoc invoice support as needed. 
The Manager will oversee transaction entries and audits for all required monthly charges allocated to capital projects as well as all transactions associated to Purchase Orders. The team will investigate and resolve any late invoices and/or invoice hold notices. The manager will work with Project Managers and Finance to reconcile financial entries at Project Closing and create ad-hoc reports based on leadership needs.

 

Responsibilities
Financial governance  - manages the annual budget:
•    Periodic financial reporting including invoices on hold and invoice forecasts
•    Governance of the Oracle Purchase Order lifecycle (requisitioning, creation, receiving, payment), ensuring vendors are paid timely with no disruption to service 
•    Clarity governance (IT labor subledger) transaction entries – monthly requirement to ensure capital financials are recorded accurately
•    Purchase order governance for external vendors
•    Resolution of invoice issues and coordination with Finance, AP and Project Mgt
•    Strategic planning for purchase order and invoice process improvements and integrations
•    Company-wide invoice management for telecom and network costs
•    M&A integration for IT invoicing
Project Management support – manages the team responsible for the below
•    SharePoint governance – creation of project sites, and strategic design of overall IT site
•    Project compliance – SDLC oversight/governance, user training and documentation

2nd level resource management assisting the Clarity support team with onboarding of resource and resource management. Manager will provide training and ensure proper access or permissions for relevant applications. 
 

Complexity

Support: The manager will need to be good at multitasking and making decisions in a fast-paced environment. The manager will also need to be highly organized with a sense of urgency with respect to the needs of department deadlines.  They will need to be confident when approaching and presenting information and know how to professionally manage multiple personality types. 

Communication and presenting an idea: The manager will need to provide guidance on the best method to present project & resource data.  The manager will need to have a working knowledge of Clarity & SharePoint applications along with the ability to understand Project management. 

Responsibility/Detailed: Give coaching, training or specific feedback for incorrect procedures or broken business rules. 

 

Scope/Financial Responsibility
The role is an individual contributor responsible for the below:

Financial:
•    Periodic financial reporting including invoices on hold and invoice forecasts

Abilities/Key Competencies

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience working with developers, managers, functional users, and executives. 

Preferred:
•    Ability to facilitate meetings, time management and prioritization.
•    Experience working in customer facing role. Flexible, open to changes and adapts quickly to new environments, tools and processes.
•    Familiar with Portfolio Management, Program Management, or Project/Resource management

Required:
•    Must have the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment. 
•    Resourceful and excellent organizational skills
•    Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and communication skills. 
•    Process requests timely with minimal supervision required
•    Methodical approach. Organized, possessing strong analytical abilities
•    Strong time management skills, ability to work within deadlines. 
•    Clarity experience or equivalent PPM tools. Working knowledge of SharePoint, MS Excel. 
•    Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

 

Experience/Certificates/Education
Required:
•    Familiar with a variety of project management methodologies, concepts, practices, and procedures is a must. 
•    Comfortable with project metrics and reporting. 
•    Requires at least 3-5 years experience in financial operational support, preferably in IT
•    Management experience
•    5 years’ related experience; or a degree in Finance, Technology, Business, or related discipline

Preferred:
•    Experience in the project management or related IT discipline 
•    Proficient in Oracle Procurement, SharePoint and Clarity 
•    Familiar with critical path analysis and portfolio dependencies
•    Exposure to working in a technical environment
•    Exposure to corporate financials and budgeting 
•    Self-starter with ability to lead teams through decision processes uniting different parts of the businesses

This role will not have direct reports. This role will report to the Senior Director, Vendor Management
