The Role

This position is responsible for supporting and delivering the sales training strategy and change management to include Global Sales, Regional Sales, Remote Sales Services and Operations support to increase seller effectiveness in the market and assist the global sales organization with driving overall contribution.

This position will also support Hotel Engagement by leading initiatives that support overall communication and support of the Global Sales Value Proposition.

What you'll do

Global Sales Effectiveness & Training
Position will partner with leader on the strategy of ongoing sales training. Will determine emerging trends to focus, specific skill sets and sales skills by role and execute sales training accordingly.  Position will take direction from leaders on if specific teams or segments are not performing to expected levels and adjust training as needed to drive revenue performance. This will include a combination of in-person training, virtual training and self-paced via Wyndham University.  In addition, this will include working with SMEs and partners to schedule Monthly training.

Global Sales & Remote Sales Services Onboarding 
Position is responsible for the development, creation, and delivery of all the New Hire Onboarding training.  This would include the initial sales systems and lead process training.  As well as the training on sales programs and support resources in order to drive contribution.  Role will also evaluate trainees after onboarding at 30-, 60- and 90-day follow-up with leader and team member to ensure that the team member is ramping up quickly.  If additional training is needed in a specific skill set, additional sales training will be scheduled.  This will include a combination of in-person training, virtual training and self-paced via Wyndham University.

Hotel Engagement
Position will work with leader to determine the sales training strategy for hotels to drive owner engagement.  This would include the creation of content to be shared consistently with the field to include but not limited to HMP, Brand Meetings, FAC Meetings, Boot Camps etc.  Position will work with leader to determine the best form of delivery and deliver the content in-person, virtual or train the trainer format.

Project Management
Partner with leadership to plan, organize, control, and lead projects within established budget and timelines.

  • Travel required 25%

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Business, Statistics, Finance, or a relevant subject is a plus.
  • Seven (7) plus years of progressive work-related experience in travel industry with focus on sales systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales systems, property management systems, and central reservation systems.   
  • Successful leadership or team management experience is required. 
  • Analytical - ability to review numbers and draw quick conclusion about past and future trends from data. Ability to communicate business needs to other departments. 
  • Hotel Sales - exceptional understanding of sales concepts, processes, and systems. 
  • Ownership - ability to navigate around organizational and cultural hurdles to achieve goals and resolve issues.  Understanding of when to escalate items outside their control.
