Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Senior Counsel, Compliance to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

Reporting to WH&R’s Senior Vice President, Corporate Transactions, Securities, Governance & Corporate Compliance Officer, the Senior Counsel, Compliance is responsible for the continued development and implementation of WH&R’s compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
•    Implement and manage WH&R’s compliance and ethics program and governance model.  
•    Operationalize the policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and related training.
•    Monitor, analyze and apply domestic and international compliance-related laws and regulations. 
•    Ensure compliance risks are appropriately understood and mitigated.
•    Participate in, and report on, certain compliance-related investigations and risk assessments.
•    Administer the integrity hotline.  
•    Work closely with Internal Audit, Human Resources and other business groups on compliance-related issues. 
•    Provide advice and drafting assistance in connection with ESG reporting, including the Social Responsibility Report and ESG questionnaires and surveys.
•    Assist other members of the Corporate Transactions, Securities, Governance & Corporate Compliance team with SEC filings and Board matters, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, Proxy Statements and Section 16 reporting.

Education & Experience

•    Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
•    Admission to NJ or another State Bar eligible for NJ in-house limited law license
•    A minimum of 5 years of compliance-related experience in a multinational corporation or law firm, with in-house experience preferred
•    Hospitality industry experience a plus  

Position Qualifications: 
•    Deep working knowledge of state, federal and international compliance-related laws, regulations and industry best practices
•    Experience implementing compliance policies and procedures and participating in investigations and risk assessments in an international business
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and with high degree of subject matter expertise, initiative and innovation
•    Ability to anticipate issues 
•    Ability to define problems, collect relevant information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and exercise sound discretion and judgment in making decisions and performing duties
•    Ability to promptly and effectively respond to questions and concerns from senior management, clients, customers and regulatory agencies
•    Organized self-starter and ability to prioritize workload and manage deadlines
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills 
•    Strong moral character required
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality and determine appropriate audiences and communication strategies by information and issue type
