Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Specialist, Learner Engagement to join our team at the Parsippany - 22 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

As a member of the Training and Development team, the Specialist, Learner Engagement supports the Senior Manager, Learning Projects in marketing and communication initiatives to raise awareness, build brand recognition, and increase usage/attendance of training and development opportunities offered to our team members (corporate and managed properties) and our franchised properties (all brands) –within but not limited to Wyndham University, our LMS group pages and any email outreaches.
Works collaboratively with our overall Training team, as well as other internal teams to include Team Member Training, Social Responsibility, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, to drive creativity, alignment, and proper messaging in order to increase engagement in all our programs and learner platforms.  The Specialist is responsible for the execution of the department’s Training and Development Marketing/Communications Strategy and assists the Senior Manager on key strategic priorities. The Specialist is responsible for marketing all offered programs in a timely and effective manner as to increase engagement in program attendance to be measured through offering evaluations and ROI reporting.  The Specialist is consistently responsible for creativity and ingenuity regarding marketing efforts to increase engagement in all programs. 
The Specialist is responsible for leading creative and innovative ideas in how the department speaks to multiple audiences. Collaborate with the communications, legal, field operations, contact center and marketing teams, among others, to ensure alignment across initiatives and on-brand creative execution. 

Strategy Execution

•    Execute T&D’s marketing and communication strategy as it relates to any and all training and development opportunities via various channels (any digital channel, telephone, mail, word-of-mouth, social, etc.) as well as publications and platforms (Wyndham University, LMS Group Pages, Wyndham Nation, MyPortal, Wyndham Check-In, Campus Reporters, etc.) across all three audiences – corporate/managed team members and franchisees.
•    In partnership with T&D team create and maintain Learning Engagement Community via Wyndham University and LMS Group Pages such as Learning Circles, Onboarding, Mentoring @ Wyndham, etc.
•    Focus on self-development, keep current with trends, best practices, new technologies, and emerging innovations in learning and development and share solutions that support ways to communicate and engage with our learners across the multiple channels.
•    Social Media/Employment Branding/Culture Advocate – Drive social media and marketing campaign around our programs plus other L&D focused events/offerings.
•    Oversee/manage the budget regarding any promotional items, for any projects.
•    Evaluation of T&D story and engagement trends; communication of the value proposition of Wyndham University (WU).
•    In-person participation during live classes to capture data and incorporate in the overall strategy of WU.
Content/Graphic creation
•    Creates compelling content (graphics and copy) that supports T&D’s marketing strategy while driving engagement across all brands, regions, and stakeholders (team members and franchisees). Publish and broadcast content in various formats (enablement collateral, newsletters, websites, blogs, banners, emails, blast recordings, mailings, presentations, social, etc.). 
•    Collaborate with ID team and/or 3rd party vendor, in support of engagement projects.
•    Responsible for how T&D is portrayed (tone and voice) in key publications and platform as far as content, messaging, and user experience to ensure the best possible experience for our learners and encourage return visits and usage.  This requires a certain level of technical expertise as it relates to executing key tasks in each platform and support processes as well as establishing effective relationships with publications and platforms owners, to get approved content published.  Discovers and implements new ways to use publications, platforms and channels and enhancement features to engage learners.
•    Push Success Stories. Celebrating the success of the teams, groups, etc.
•    Communicate how our T&D function is contributing to the business in terms of efficiency and effectiveness measures.
•    Role of learning in meeting critical needs around talent management, skill development, customer service, increased revenue, or improved productivity, etc.
Senior Manager Support
•    Assist the Senior Manager with driving revenue and registration goals dictated by T&D’s annual budget/revenue forecast as it pertains to our revenue generating programs.


The Specialist will work in close coordination with the Senior Manager, Learning Projects and VP of Training and Development in executing the departmental strategic plan.  The role has mid-level decision making responsibilities.  The Specialist is challenged to seek out a variety of perspectives on identified challenges/opportunities before developing a final solution.  

Scope/Financial Responsibility
The Specialist of Learner Engagement plays a key role in the department’s performance by the ability to drive engagement in offerings through a creative marketing approach within financial constraints of the organization.  In addition, presents ideas and plans to minimize costs while enhancing impact of learning on the organization.  


Travel Requirements
Travel may be required up to 20% to assist in execution of T&D related training programs, if needed.

General Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree  in marketing, communications, human resources or business required  
•    At least 2 years of marketing experience, preferably within an L&D function
•    Experienced/skilled in project management 
•    Experience creating and publishing content (writing copy and designing graphic components)
•    Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite  (advanced Illustrator and InDesign mastery, Photoshop a plus,  Premier Pro a plus), Microsoft Office (advanced PowerPoint mastery, intermediate Outlook and Word mastery), Windows and Mac OS environments, basic HTML/HTML5 and CSS coding, Content Management Tools (i.e. WordPress)
•    Smartsheet experience a plus.
