The Role

This role will be responsible for defining and bringing to life the position of each brand globally as well as building and implementing marketing campaigns and initiatives in North America.  Specific responsibilities include:

  • Effective storytelling and content creation integrated across channels like social media, video, mobile, direct response to drive perception change, brand engagement and intent.  
  • Leading all integrated, creative advertising campaigns across North America including managing key creative, social, media, PR and other agency relationships.
  • Oversee measurement for campaigns and experiences with clear KPIs, timings, reporting and optimizations to ensure learnings and best practices.
  • Working with the digital and ecommerce teams to ensure the brand is properly presented across all of our e-commerce channels and distribution teams.
  • Working closely with Wyndham Rewards to properly tie into our umbrella campaigns and to fully leverage the Wyndham Rewards program and direct marketing channels.  
  • Coordinating with consumer insights team to identify trends and opportunities, brand tracking and research, and performance reporting.
  • Aligning with Communications team to drive an effective communications strategy (PR and Owner campaigns).
  • Managing media strategy in North America in partnership with our integrated media team.
  • Managing creative agencies/creative services to develop brand creative elements and standards that can be implemented across all channels and regions.
  • Manage creative brand identity across all in-hotel collateral.
  • Identifying potential brand partnerships, negotiating partnership relationships, and managing partnerships. 
  • Managing the brand budget.
  • Presenting at internal and external company meetings and addressing owner issues and gaining owner's feedback.  

What you'll do

This position will manage and lead all aspects of marketing for La Quinta by Wyndham as well as provide support for other Midscale brands as needed.

This Senior Manager, Brand Marketing works directly with the Brand Marketing leaders, Brand Operations leaders, Public/Corporate/Owner/Franchisee Communications, Media team, Agency Partners and across Rev Gen teams to manage, collaborate and integrate all aspects of brand marketing and execute the company’s plans for this well-established hotel brand.  This role will serve as a brand champion across the organization and be responsible for defining and manifesting brand concepts through marketing campaigns, public relations, brand guidelines, and guest-facing channels.  The Senior Manager will have responsibility for the look, feel, and positioning of each brand and will work in partnership across all shared service and functional marketing areas to ensure proper presentation, messaging and delivery of the brand’s position, marketing, promotions, and awareness groups such as Communications, Digital Channels, Wyndham Rewards, Strategic Sourcing, Operations, and Strategic Planning to ensure proper presentation, messaging and delivery of the brand promises.  

You'll be successful if you have

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of digital and social media channels.
  • Experience and track record building media and marketing plans.
  • Proven track record of managing budgets, maximizing dollars spent and demonstrating marketing ROI.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • College degree required.
  • 5+ years of brand marketing experience (travel/hospitality preferred).
  • 5+ years of advertising experience (agency or client side) with large agency management experience.
