Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Technical Lead, Application Support to join our team at the Parsippany - 14 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Technical Lead, Application Support Data Services is a role in our Production Support and Maintenance Team, responsible for the planning and technical implementation of maintenance, enhancement and operational support activities related to our data services support tower.  This role is responsible for providing technical leadership with root cause analysis and hands on development in delivering break fixes and enhancement tasks in a timely manner to establish, maintain, operate, and support enterprise data integration and services delivery. This role will partner with management, technical leads, development and support teams to understand the entire data services ecosystem for operational triaging and overall support as well as providing approach and effort estimates for coding changes. This role is responsible for leading and working with technical resources, both onsite and offshore, and tracking activities against the timeline, proactively communicate status, issues and risks and coordinate activities with internal and external strategic partners/vendors.  Additional responsibilities include providing continuous improvement strategies through performance improvement and automation analysis for the operational data services platform.

Responsibilities
Analysis, design and development of code changes for break fixes, small enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives  
Communicate designs and technical requirements with technical teams and lead the technical implementation of the overall maintenance and small enhancement tasks/initiatives 
Represent maintenance team in review meetings and solution discussions 
Review System requirement documents prepared by strategic partners and ensure business requirements are met from both functional and technical aspects 
Guide and lead the creation of the system and detailed technical design. The Technical Lead is ultimately responsible for sound detailed design 
Investigate new technologies and guide developers to assist in investigation 
Review proposed solutions by senior engineers and guide them toward an efficient, high performant and secure implementation adhere to industry best practices and standards 
Work with Multiple Associate Technical Leads and other Technical Leads across multiple systems to achieve the project goal for a particular project. 
Communicate with the project team, support teams and strategic partners effectively to achieve the solution goals       


Complexity
This position demands active participation across multiple functions and departments along with working relationships with the various Business and IT divisions as a peer and colleague. 
This position will require the ability to work in a highly integrated application support environment where teamwork, communication, and trust are critical to success. 


Scope/Financial Responsibility
This person will be expected work diligently to ensure the operational stability and performance of the production environment. Periodically, this person will be required to work overtime and/or provide periodic off-hours support.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum BS in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent experience
• Master's Degree in Computer Science preferred.
• 10+ years of related technical work experience in the implementation of complex, large scale, enterprise wide projects including analysis, design, core development and delivery.
• 10+ years of experience in application support and maintenance with expertise in Informatica ETL, Informatica Power Center and Informatica Data Quality.
• 8+ years of Data warehouse and BI experience.
• Experience working on production support data estimation and volume analysis.
• Expertise in doing data analysis, data quality checks and profiling.
• Experience working on production support ad hoc data requests, data validation and data Trend analysis
• Debugging skills required.
• Experience in Informatica Cloud and iPaaS.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of data integration industry best practices
• Must have a background and knowledge in enterprise data strategy and/or information architecture
• Strong experience leading and working with multi-site and/or off-shore development and support teams.
• Experience with various software development estimation techniques.
• Ability to understand BI Reporting Requirements and warehouse ER diagrams.
• Proven record of complex business requirements handling.
• Strong Database & Performance Tuning Knowledge
• Experience in AWS Cloud services such as S3, Elastic Beanstalk and Cloud Formation
• Experience in AWS managed databases such as Redshift and DynamoDB.
• Experience with Control M
• 
• Ability to perform data related design reviews and code reviews.
• Experience with dimensional modeling using star schema and snowflake models
• Experience monitoring performance metrics for various production systems and identify root cause for technical issues and recommend solutions.
• Experience working in agile projects.
• Experience with Incident, Change and Problem Management.
• Experience with ITSM Tools (Service Now or Samanage or any other ticket tracking tools).
• Must be willing to provide on call support on a rotation basis for 24x7 support. When on call, requires off hours.
• Hotel industry experience a plus

 

 

Technical Requirements

Technology Requirements:
• Deep experience in designing/architecting/leading highly scalable, distributed BI/DW, Big Data and data integration solutions
• Strong experience in Service Oriented Architecture design, development, governance, B2B integration and deployment.
• Expertise in data warehousing using Informatica Power Center, Informatica Master Data Management, IDD and Informatica Cloud Integration.
• Strong experience in Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Postgres etc.
• Strong experience in AWS technologies and services including but not limiting to Redshift, DynamoDB, etc.
• Strong experience in debugging and performance tuning of mappings/sessions, SQL queries and DB connections etc.
• Experience in Informatica IDQ and Data Quality tools
• Experience with Hadoop, HDFS, Python, Scala and Big Data
• Experience in database design and dimensional modeling, Start and Snowflake schemas
• Experience with database architecture for OLTP and OLAP applications and ETL processes
• Experience in Informatica Cloud and Informatica Cloud real-time services
• Experience in developing complex mappings in Informatica with various transformations including Web consumer, SQL transformation, XML generator, XML parser etc.
• ETL experience in dealing with JSON Sources & Targets
• Strong in Unix shell scripting
• Experience in supporting all phases of SDLC.
• Knowledge of Operating Systems, Middleware, Webservers, etc.
