Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is now seeking a Technical Lead, Data Analytics to join our team at the Parsippany - 14 Sylvan Way location in ParsippanyNew Jersey.

Job Summary

The Data Analytics Lead is responsible for leading efforts to define, implement and enhance reporting and data capabilities within the organization.  The role will work closely with the Reporting and Analytics team to create a Business Intelligence strategy that can be delivered by the IT delivery teams.  The role will manage the onboarding of new data sources that interface with our visualization tools.  The role will manage data/reporting enhancement requests as well as manage the troubleshooting efforts of any data related issues.  The role incorporates multiple facets including facilitating sessions with the business, running workshops, conducting business interviews, working with engineering and the infrastructure team and other stakeholders.

The Data Analytics Lead will advise the Reporting and Analytics team on best practices in BI.  Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies, and lead implementation of new BI tools to manage client reporting and internal analytics.  

The ideal candidate is able to understand our business drivers and needs for our end users and design a analytics platform that enables end user access to business insights and analytics. We expect that the analytics needs for the company, and data to support the analytics, will be continually changing and growing and the lead must account for flexibility and growth in all facets of the delivery platform(s).


Responsibilities
    
1    Lead the implementation and execution plan of Business Intelligence related projects that meet business objectives, long term strategies and IT standards.  Identify opportunities to innovate    
2    Manage BI enhancement requests and backlog    
3    Develop, maintain and build relationships with internal stakeholders within IT. In conjunction with the Director, Data Analytics build long lasting business relationships including Analytics, Finance and operations.   4    Gather and maintain business requirements    
5    Contribute to the data strategy, support data analysis and modeling efforts    
6    Liaise with maintenance and support teams to identify data related issues    
7    Keep abreast of industry trends and technology.  Manage tech standards

Education & Experience

  1. 4 Year Degree - BA/BS in Business,  Technology, Hospitality or equivalent work experience preferred
  2. 3+ years’ experience in Analytics, Reporting, or data engineering is required with preference in the Hotel industry
  3. 5-6 years of experience working in the IT industry
  4. Experience in deploying and managing data analytic platforms
  5. Must have knowledge and experience of Reporting / Visualization tools
  6. Must demonstrate the ability to understand how data is and will be used including the implication on processes, people and technology.
  7. Thought leader with very strong communication and management skills.
  8. Strong technical data management skills combined with the ability to lead project teams
  9. Strong presentation skills aimed at aligning business value to technical solutions
  10. Track record of innovative solutions, problem solving and providing guidance
  11. Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines.
