The Role

The VP, Media and Brand Marketing is a veteran accomplished marketer skilled at developing brand marketing and media strategies to achieve and over deliver on business goals. This position is responsible for delivering strategic marketing vision to execute high-impact media campaigns across all channels that generate revenue and drive awareness, consideration and bookings.  This leader will also foster a culture of innovation looking to push the boundaries on content, channels and campaigns.  

What you'll do

  • Media Strategy: Lead full-funnel cohesive media strategy across traditional and digital marketing channels including planning, creative development, budgets and optimization.
  • Brand Development: Own all marketing elements of Wyndham’s 24 global brands and our award winning Wyndham Rewards loyalty program including look, feel and tone of voice of brands.  
  • Analytical Acumen: Establish the strategic frame and KPIs measuring the performance of the  brands and Loyalty program creative initiatives across all platform
  • Grow Our Guest Base: Attract new guests and increase engagement with current members leveraging all elements of the marketing mix.
  • Build Best Marketing Practices:  Educate and inspire marketers and the rest of the organization to embrace full-funnel best practices 
  • Build & Manage a World Class Team: Lead and manage a high performing team across core marketing functions including ownership of our agency relationships
  • Forward Looking:  Imbue the marketing team and broader organization with an innovative spirit and deep test and learn mentality
  • Identify the specializations and expertise required to build a diverse, inclusive and high-performing marketing team
  • Build and lead the team: provide day-to-day leadership and create developmental opportunities within the organization through mentoring, constructive feedback and a culture of accountability
  • Leader & Team player: Collaborate with the larger revenue generation organization, finance and executive teams on messaging, programmatic offerings and business models to achieve core business goals
  • Be the Face of the Brands:  Experience presenting to large groups of key stakeholders

You'll be successful if you have

  • Strong social intelligence and influencing skills: enrolling variety of constituencies, building commitment and relationships
  • Excellent experience in leading, developing and implementing complex marketing strategies and plans in fast paced organizations
  • Operational excellence: deep expertise of assessing and deploying internal and external resources as necessary in the execution of those plans
  • Experience in developing and rolling out brand and campaign guidelines across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of use of data/analytics in development and measurement of marketing strategy & tactics 
  • Proven track record of energizing, leading and managing effective and productive teams both direct and cross-functional
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects
  • Ability to make presentations to persuade others to accept action or provide information
  • Strong inter-personal skills including diplomacy and flexibility to work effectively across the organization 
  • Detail-oriented, organized and able to multi-task while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership of goals
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, integrity, and the ability to build professional trust and respect across all levels of the organization;

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • At least 10 years experience successfully leading a cross functional Marketing team.
