The Role

Senior Manager, Sales Development has a deep desire to accelerate entry into a career in sales by identifying and qualifying new sales opportunities for Wyndham. The candidate will be responsible for quickly understanding and being able to articulate the Wyndham value proposition to prospects and existing strategic accounts, to drive interest in Wyndham's offerings. The ideal candidate will research prospective companies and develop a daily plan of attack in consultation with their manager. On a daily basis the Sales Development Senior Manager will respond to inbound leads and proactively conduct outreach via phone calls, emails, LinkedIn, etc. to initiate conversations with prospects. They will leverage email and call scripts, research and quick-thinking to identify potential opportunities, and conduct initial qualification to determine if appointment setup with sales is justified  A successful sales development senior manager is self-motivated to hunt for new business, an effective communicator and listener, and has the mettle to battle through repeated rejection in order to hit their short-term goals, and long-term career aspirations.
 

What you'll do

Building New Pipeline:

  • Conduct website and corporate research and contact intelligence tools such as Hoovers, ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to research companies, assess fit between likely business needs and Wyndham’s offerings, and identify likely economic buying centers specific contacts to engage based on common personas (i.e., travel coordinators, project managers, etc.).
  • Utilize email and/or telephone skills to initially engage with “whitespace” prospects, quickly establish credibility, and determine if there are business needs that warrant further engagement with the Wyndham sales team.
  • Effectively manage Wyndham’s prospecting tools and lead management systems to track daily activity and results, and enable effective appointment scheduling to handoff new opportunities to the sales team to conduct further sales qualification.

Building Essential Selling Skills:

  • Effective sales development managers utilize the sales enablement and training resources at their disposal to quickly understand the hospitality and travel industry, typical economic buying centers, Wyndham’s value proposition, and the underlying content, research tools, systems and processes available to support effective prospecting.
  • Willingness to proactively solicit and listen to (and then apply) constructive feedback during coaching sessions is critical to support rapid development of both ”hard” and “soft” sales skills.
  • When available, participation in industry trade shows and customer-facing events to build upon industry knowledge and establish new contacts.

  • Strong natural communication and follow-up skills.
  • Technical aptitude including the ability to quickly master tools including Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com, CVENT, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo and Hoovers.
     

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience with a strong desire to build a career in sales.
