Wyndham Grand is now seeking a Activities Coordinator-Recreations to join our team at the Rio Mar Beach Grand Resort location in Rio GrandePuerto Rico.

Job Summary

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for guest daily activities and handling activities equipment creating a fun and professional environment for all guests. Also assists in beach and pool services and maintenance.

Education & Experience

  • High school graduate
  • Able to work rotative shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Write, read and speak in English and Spanish
  • Sports knowledge, preferred
  • Able to work with children, preferred
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift, pull and push heavy objects and equipment.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

General Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with Wyndham standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problems areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
  • Must be able to maintian confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Performs day to day activities for hotel guests as per the daily activity program.
  • Coordinates for weather/rainy day activities and implements them when necessary.
  • Plans and coordinates the initiation of daily activities throughout the day.
  • Assists the Pool and Beach staff when requested.
