The Role

The Financial Operations Specialist supports WHR Financial Operations & Governance by way of oversight on and processing of transactions associated with purchase orders. The Specialist will investigate and resolve any late invoices and/or invoice hold notices. The Specialist will work with Project Managers and Finance to reconcile financial entries at project closing and produce ad-hoc reports based on leadership needs.
 

What you'll do

Procure to Payment Process:

 

  • Governance of the Oracle Purchase Order lifecycle (requisitioning, creation, receiving, payment), ensuring vendors are paid timely with no disruption to service. High-volume processing within an established framework. 
  • Purchase order governance for external vendors.
  • Resolution of invoice issues and coordination with Finance, AP, and Project Mgt


Project Financials:

 

  • Periodic financial reporting, including invoices on hold and invoice forecasts.
  • Clarity governance (IT labor subledger) transaction entries – monthly requirement to ensure capital financials are recorded accurately


Continuous Improvement

 

  • Strategic planning for purchase order and invoice process improvements and integrations

You'll be successful if you have

  • Ability to communicate effectively and build solid relationships with individuals at all levels, in multiple geographies and business functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure. 
  • Experience working with PPM tools and financial systems (ex. Clarity, Smartsheet, Oracle EBS)
  • Highly proficient knowledge with Windows applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
     

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Education:  Post-secondary education in hospitality, business, information technology, or related field(s) will be considered an asset
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience (Financial, Accounting, and Payables preferred) 
  • Oracle Knowledge required.
