The Role

The Group Sales Specialist position is a reactive sales role focused on group reservations (10 or more rooms). Specialists service potential guests via both telephone and email leveraging company computer systems and/or external communications with hotel staff to obtain special rates and reserve blocks and groups on the guest’s behalf. Specialists work through multiple mediums (phones, web, and email) to accomplish their core job function and work with the same guests throughout the sales process.

Specialists will communicate with guests and hotel staff via both outbound phone calls and email correspondence. The Group Sales Specialist assists guests in obtaining the best hotels and rates for their needs. Attendance is a critical function of the job and will be managed in accordance with the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc policies.
 

What you'll do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Receive inbound phone calls/emails from guests
  • Work within computer systems to obtain rates/information for guests
  • Place outbound calls to guests/hotel staff
  • Create and send correspondence to guests/hotel staff via email
  • Performs other duties as needed

You'll be successful if you have

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • High School or General Equivalency Diploma
  • Ability to work through company provided training
  • Computer proficiency
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Web Browser Usage (ex. Chrome, Edge)
  • Experience in a call center atmosphere or travel industry is a plus
