Wyndham is now seeking a Transient Sales Manager to join our team at the Wyndham San Diego on the Bay location in San DiegoCalifornia.

Job Summary

The Business Transient Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Long hours sometimes required.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
  • Comply with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
Fundamental Requirements
  • Achieve all sales contact and revenue goals.
  • Convert new accounts to the hotel through solicitation, negotiation, RFP process and annual local preferred contracts.
  • Develop full potential and drill down each account seeking all feeder business, travel departments/agencies and reservation centers locally, regionally, countrywide and worldwide.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
  • Qualify group/catering opportunities within accounts and turn leads over to group and catering counterparts.
  • Embrace and understand brand loyalty and incentive programs (Wyndham Rewards). Become the hotel expert on program uses and advantages and able to effectively communicate those aspects in presentations.
  • Assure effective and proper utilization and adherence to brand standards relating to sales systems, reporting and tracking of accounts.
  • Utilize brand revenue management tools and systems for correct, competitive proving and position.
  • Tracking of client annual room night commitments and review on quarterly basis with clients.
