Job Summary

The Security Supervisor is responsible for directing the day-to-day operation of the Security department, providing protection and communication with hotel guests and employees. He/she is also responsible for patrolling hotel premises to maintain security, detect and report fire, security and safety hazards and/or violations of Wyndham rules and regulations.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is minimum requirement.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in the field of Security, minimum of 1-2 years in similar role in a 5 or 4 star hotel.
  • Must have at least 3 years of UAE experience.
  • Must be holding valid SIRA Security Supervisor license.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Understanding and ability to work in multicultural environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written in English.
Physical Requirements
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Ability to stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairways and run.
  • Ability to physically deter individuals who pose a threat to employee and/or guests.
General Requirements
  • Must be physically fit, able to stand long hours, lift, carry, push, pull objects.
  • Must be flexible in regards to duty shifts, working excess hours upon requirement.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns.

Fundamental Requirements

Assist and report to the Safety and Security Manager, supervise the daily functions of the Security department. Keep the Safety and Security Manager informed on all matters of safety and security interest affecting the hotel or the department.

Maintain constant vigilance of hotel operation and premises.

Use proper radio and telephone etiquette at all times.

Conduct and supervise internal and external patrols, property walkthrough.

Conduct daily physical hazard, safety inspections, report irregularities and take necessary actions to minimize hazards, control risks.

Complete daily reports, conduct necessary security audits.

Conduct investigations, gather information and complete reports, handle interruptions, complaints raised by associates and guests.

Ensure proper key and access control. Ensure access to secured areas for authorized personnel only. Challenge suspicious people.

Handle lost and found items.

Maintain and review daily activity log and take needful actions.

Train, supervise the security team and ensure that policies are followed. Conduct regular briefings, trainings for same.

Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. Complete assigned safety and security trainings, certifications.

Assist during medical emergencies, respond to accidents, injuries, report unsafe acts and conditions, take remedial actions for rectification to prevent loss, prepare necessary documentation.

Respond to emergency situations, assist guests, associates and conduct emergency response drills. Able to act as person in charge for building evacuation.

Maintain effective cooperation with law enforcement authorities, emergency services.

Have knowledge of hotel and guestroom locking, fire alarm systems.

Carrying out other duties assigned by the Manager.
