The Role

The Vice President of Franchise Sales leads all franchise development activity across Canada, overseeing both conversion and new construction opportunities. This role is responsible for driving the region’s growth strategy through direct execution and leadership of a high-performing sales organization, including the management of direct reports. The Vice President owns the full franchise sales lifecycle—from market strategy and prospecting to negotiations, deal execution, and long-term relationship management—while serving as a key strategic partner to internal corporate teams. This position requires a results-driven, highly strategic leader with deep expertise in deal structuring, market development, and franchise sales execution.

What you'll do

 

  • Execute the overall franchise sales strategy for the Canadian region across conversion and new construction brands.
  • Identify priority growth markets and develop targeted prospecting and expansion strategies.
  • Drive volume, velocity, and quality of franchise agreements to meet or exceed annual development targets.
  • Lead, mentor, and performance-manage direct reports.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative sales culture focused on disciplined execution and ethical deal-making.
  • Personally source, qualify, negotiate, and close high-value franchise deals.
  • Partner with legal and finance teams to structure franchise agreements aligned with brand and owner objectives.
  • Own regional sales forecasting, pipeline management, and opening projections.
  • Partner closely with brand, development services, construction, design, finance, marketing, and operations to ensure seamless execution from signing through opening.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing franchisees, multi-unit operators and developers.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, broker events, and franchise development forums.

You'll be successful if you have

 

  • Management-level experience in franchise sales, commercial real estate development or hospitality
  • Proven track record of closing high-value franchise or development transactions and exceeding quota
  • Prior leadership experience managing sales leaders.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to evaluate pro formas, ROI, and market feasibility.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and executive-level presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian development landscape and franchise regulatory environment (preferred).
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent judgment in evaluating opportunities for the company.
  • New construction development knowledge.
  • Commercial real estate understanding.
  • Commercial lending/banking acumen.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Canada.

Required Qualifications/Experience

 

  • College degree preferred.
  • A record of achieving quotas in a sales organization required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Required to travel approximately 80% of the time (4 out of 5 days per week). Travel will be predominantly focused on lead generation and customer relationship management in Canada.
