Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach is now seeking a Sales Manager (MICE) to join our team in Qatar.

Job Summary

The role holder will contribute to the performance of the hotel by facilitating the skills he /she has acquired through past experiences in the Sales Department.

As a Sales Manager – MICE, He / She will be responsible for the success of meetings, events as well as other MICE and group bookings. He / She will plan the meetings / events, co-ordinate with hotel operations and clients before, during and after the meeting / event. He / She will drive group bookings and sales leads and increase conversion

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy

  • Working closely with the Assistant Director of Sales - MICE to achieve personal revenue goals and budgeted goals of the property.
  • Review sales and other revenue generating business plans, identify gaps, ensure proactive measures to fill hotel and conference space capacity, and meet set targets
  • To ensure tentative business block information is updated on a monthly basis & provide accurate updates to the Assistant Director of MICE to present at the revenue strategy meeting
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel and manage the departments so that Team Members adhere to the strategy
  • Understand the competitive marketplace and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays competitive in the local market
  • Ensure the Sales Team is developed effectively and embraces a culture of high quality standards and proactive selling
  • Work effectively to build relationships with colleagues in the hotel

Event Coordination

  • Communicating client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service.
  • Assemble and distribute consistent, concise group resumes and banquet event orders.
  • Attend and Chair Pre Event Meetings and Menu Tastings as required
  • Work closely with the Culinary team in the creation of new theme menus, special events and service standards
  • To ensure that all group enquiries are entered into and reviewed on Opera in order to review suitability of business. 
  • Work closely with the client and key hotel departments throughout the duration of their event, being available to assist them at the appropriate times.

Product Knowledge

  • Designs, develops, and sells creative catered events
  • To develop good knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering &PMS systems
  • Maximize all Conference & Events revenue opportunities with better product knowledge

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Good Problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Superior time management and relationship building
  • Strong organization and follow up skills

Education & Experience

  • Degree in Hospitality Management or Tourism
  • Two years’ experience in same job role
  • Qatar experience is a plus
